Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity. A Testimonial

It’s always fun to help buyers achieve their cottage ownership dreams. In this competitive market, it takes some key skills to be successful including a strong understanding of cottage structures and systems, lake quality, local concerns and features, competition awareness, strong negotiation skills and perhaps even a dash of good luck. However, as they say, luck is the what happens when preparation meets opportunity.

While as realtors, we strive to market our unique skills and strengths, it’s always nice to have a customer speak up on our behalf. The following is just that, and I’m honoured to have served this lovely couple with both the purchase and sale of a cottage property in the Kawartha’s.

My husband and I were new to cottage life and very naïve as to some of the considerations when purchasing a waterfront property.  Having been a lifetime cottager, Ken was able to give us great insight into the purchase, maintenance, and ultimately the sale of our first waterfront property. We had actually tried 2 other agents prior to calling Ken and were very disappointed with their level of commitment.  We found we were doing all our own legwork and finding our own listings before they even called us.  We found Ken on Google and the difference in service was night and day.  We got almost daily emails with new listings that were in the area and at the price point we were looking for.  Ken found us a great little place on Lower Buckhorn Lake and we fell in love with cottage life; so much so that we recently just sold our place in order to allow us to find our ‘forever’ place. We were worried that in today’s climate we may not get the price we wanted but Ken reassured us that it was no problem for him to list it and just see what happened.  We sold in about 4 days for well over our asking price and we were thrilled.Ken is now helping us search for our next cottage property and we’re confident he’ll be able to find us the place to make a more permanent home on the water.”
