Bobcaygeon was incorporated as a village in 1876, and quickly became known as the “Hub of the Kawarthas.” Only 90 minutes from the GTA, Bobcaygeon is nestled between two scenic lakes, Sturgeon and Pigeon and is home to 3500 people. Bobcaygeon is also a hub for the region, providing many of the services unavailable in the smaller neighbouring communities.

Bobcaygeon also welcomes thousands of tourists and cottagers every year to enjoy their many cultural events, recreational fishing and boating, and the historic Trent Severn Waterway. You can swim at the public beach, boat, or simply enjoy the serenity of sitting by the locks watching the world go by. It’s been recently made famous by The Tragically Hip’s iconic song, Bobcaygeon, named after the town.

Located on three islands and the mainland, the town offers many amenities for the surrounding communities and cottages. Unique shops, friendly pubs and restaurants, markets, cultural events, and more. Many a visitor will enjoy browsing the main street shops, which is home to an eclectic mix of fashion stores, shoe stores, antique and specialty food, and cottage apparel. There is something for everyone on Bobcaygeon.
