Apsley is the main village in the community of North Kawartha. It is just over 2 hours from the GTA and approximately 30 mins north of Peterborough. The area is home to 2400 residents and welcomes over 12,000 seasonal residents. Many cottagers have become permanent residents, contributing year-round to the recreational and cultural activities that enrich community life.

North Kawartha was formed in 1998 through an amalgamation of the Townships of Burleigh and Anstruther and the Township of Chandos. The township comprises the communities of Apsley (main village), Big Cedar, Glen Alda, Rose Island, Woodview and part of Burleigh Falls. These communities are surrounded by freshwater lakes, including Chandos, Jack, Anstruther, Eels, and many more.

You can enjoy the region’s many beaches, parks and green spaces, as well as year-round recreational programs and facilities, including a seasonal indoor ice surface. The many area attractions also include snowmobile, skiing and hiking trails.
