Mississauga Lake is part of a chain of seven lakes, including Catchacoma Lake, Gold Lake, Cold Lake, Beaver Lake, McGinness Lake and Cavendish Lake. It’s home to a variety of cottages, including some owned by NHL hockey players. It offers excellent bass and lake trout fishing – it is very deep in certain places, with depths over 120′.

There is a humanmade dam on the south end of the lake which controls water levels. The region of the Kawartha Highlands offers excellent camping and backpacking opportunities – you can reach several other lakes not accessible by boat. These include Gull Lake, Bottle Lake, Sucker Lake and Anstruther Lake.
