Buckhorn Lake is the third of the Kawartha ‘Tri-Lakes’ and represents a fantastic opportunity for cottagers. It’s divided into two different lakes, separated by a lock – Upper Buckhorn and Lower Buckhorn. The town of Buckhorn is located at the locks separating these two lakes. Its terrain includes both soft bottom areas with weeds and rock bottom regions in the North as the Canadian shield emerges. Buckhorn Lake is home to resorts and lodges that can include cottage rentals and dining.

It is famous for its excellent bass fishing as well as Walleye and Musky. Lower Buckhorn Lake is home to Gallery on the Lake, a beautiful waterside art gallery. Buckhorn’s town offers the essentials, including groceries, hardware, dining, and an LCBO outlet. It’s quaint and small but a very convenient destination for cottagers.
